moisturized hands are sexy

well they are lol. who wants to walk around with ashy cracking hands? plenty of people according to the many i come accross on a daily basis. but not I. i took a trip to Nordstroms a week ago to purchase a few things and came accross a few hand cremes. but i wanted to splurge on myself so i put back the $15 hand cream in the cute little bite sized tube and walked over to the La Mer counter. of course the SA's were glad to assist me as they were waiting to push the famouse face creme on me. but knowing what i was there for, i stuck to my guns and asked for "a hand creme", not even familiar with the exact name. the tube i was handed was much bigger than the previous cremes i had (click the photo for more info)looked at and since i was in a rush i didnt even bother to "test" the product.
but when i got home of course i spend at least an hour "playing" with the creme that i had high hopes for based on the brand alone. and for the next week as well i tested it. i started with a little at first, wanting to see how much was needed to properly moisturize. since im used to using all natural butters and oils such as shea butter and coconut oils im used to a certain feel. i like seeing my skin shine and im used to that moisture lasting. so clearly i had high expitations. after the first few days my mind was already made up about this creme.
it is a thick and creamy product that glides onto the skin causing instant moisture. BUT i find that the moisture didnt last. i also found that it gave me the same moisture that i get from store bought hair conditioner that contains cones. it felt artificial. i guess if you are used to using products with long lists of ingredients hard to pronounce then you probably wouldnt notice the difference but if you are used to all natural products then its easy to see and feel the difference.
i plan to continue to use this creme because, well, i purchased it lol. but i seriously doubt i would repurchase. it is not a bad hand creme at all, but its also not necessary, especially given the price tag.
i plan to continue to use it in hopes of maybe seeing a change in the appearance of my hands. maybe this creme over time will wow me. and in that case you can look out for an updated review.

#wcw

oh how i love the glamour of old hollywood! the shape of the dresses, the sex appeal, the class, the elegance. This singer and dancer had all of that and more. Beauty was certainly something she did not lack. I love me some Dorothy Dandridge.

look at that pose. This woman exuded what i think is the epitome of grace. She embodied what it means to be a lady. Lena Horne.

pearls and speedys

So I thought I'd start this blog off by talking about my two favorite things at the moment(well, if we choose not to count my other thousand favorite things). those two things are the very iconic Speedy bag by Louis Vuitton and the ever classic pearl necklace.
ahhh the speedy! what can i say about this bag that has not already been mentioned by vloggers and bloggers all over the net about a hundred times over? lets see, ive owned more than a few LV bags and my favorite has to be the Speedy(well, at the moment lol). it is so classy, so chic, and so user friendly. Whether dressed up or down, worn with jeans or gown it is a statement peice that literally speaks volumes.
And timeless, did i mention it is timeless?  this bag, not uncommon to a few other Louis Vuitton items will last a lifetime. this bag can be past down from generation to generation and never lose its flare. and why wouldnt you love a bag that allows you to choose the pattern(mono or Damier), color, material(canvas or leather), or size?
And the best part? because this bag is so timeless, if you so choose to you can purchase a pre-loved speedy for a very good price. and with character to boot as the leather will have already oxidized and changed to a lovely honey or deeper caramel color. We'll get into where and how to purchase pre-loved goods in another post, i could literally go on forever since finding vintage luxury goods is a favorite hobby of mine. it makes the heart go pitter patter .

And if you are a lady like myself who loves to mix old and new, and dressy with casual then you'd understand the feeling i get when i slip on a pair of jeans and a fitted cotton T with my speedy bag and a pearl necklace. OMG!!!!! amazing. so simple and yet classy. and whether you pair this ensemble with a classic pump or ballerina flats i promise you will turn heads. you will demand attention in an understated way that oozes confidence and sex appeal. am i making this up? i dont know. you have to slip on a pair of jeans and a fitted T to find out. dont forget your pearls and caramel speedy.
Coco Chanel popularized wearing a little black dress with layered pearl necklacesok so shes not wearing jeans and a T, but if i had anyone in mind as i thought about draping my neck in pearls, it was Coco Chanel.
